Promoting new crops

  • Climatic advantages (distinct dry and wet season) in certain parts of the North, e.g. Perlis, is suitable for cultivation of fruits.
  • Potatoes will also be cultivated for non-food uses (e.g. bio-plastics).
  • The National Feedlot Centre in Gemas shall act as the nucleus and breeding source for young calves, to then create economically-sized feedlot systems at the village & district levels.
