EMM is an innovative solution that helps increase the yield and income of farmers. It is among NCIA’s initiatives to modernise the region’s agriculture sector.

Introduced in 2011, the first model involved 2,000 hectares of land with the participation of approximately 1,000 paddy farmers in Seberang Perai Utara, Pulau Pinang.

The initial run’s success paved the way for the programme to be extended into more paddy areas for more farmers to reap its benefits. EMM has since been implemented successfully in several field locations, including Pertubuhan Peladang Kawasan (PPK) areas, in addition to paddy growing sites in Kedah and Pulau Pinang.
