The Skills & Entrepreneurship programme (Latihan Kemahiran dan Keusahawanan) is one of two (2) components that make up the empowerNCER series of programmes which focuses on skills, academic and socioeconomic enhancement. The other programme in the series is empowerNCER – Academic.
empowerNCER – Skills & Entrepreneurship provides participants with the knowledge and empowerment they need to enhance employability or become business owners. It is open to KIDA beneficiaries, Orang Asli, women, youths, unemployed graduates, retrenched workers and Orang Asli from the B40 community.
The programme has since been extended to include small traders, micro-enterprises and retrenched workers in the B40 group. This is in line with the Malaysian Government’s additional measures for SMEs under the PRIHATIN SME+ Stimulus Package, first announced on 6 April 2020.
Through the programme’s collaboration with various agencies and organisations, participants will receive training and relevant certification, along with access to job placement opportunities. They also stand to benefit from buyback arrangements for products and services they produce. So far, over 3,000 people have benefitted from this initiative.
