NCER Talent Enhancement Programme (NTEP@NCER)

Encouraging companies to employ fresh graduates

 

NTEP is a human capital incentive programme for companies investing and expanding in NCER, as well as companies that are actively hiring. An enhanced incentive was developed to complement the Malaysian Government’s PRIHATIN Economic Stimulus Package, first announced on 27 March 2020 to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 and the Movement Control Order.

 

The enhanced NTEP incentive is meant to encourage companies to employ fresh graduates and provide them with adequate training, in lieu of hiring experienced personnel or foreign knowledge workers. The companies must offer these graduates a monthly salary of at least RM1,500, among other conditions, for them to qualify for the incentive.

 

This incentive is also tailored to boost the employability of local graduates, unemployed graduates, retrenched workers, contract workers, part-time workers and graduate trainees by providing them with job opportunities while ensuring a skilled workforce which matches the industry needs within NCER.

The NTEP Contribution is as follows:

 

Qualification Sector Minimum Salary NTEP Contribution
Degree / Masters / PhD Manufacturing RM2,500 and above RM1,000/ month
SME RM2,000 and above RM1,000/ month
Non-Manufacturing RM1,800 and above 50% of the salary offered or maximum RM1000 per month
Advance Dip / Diploma / Certificate All Sectors RM1,500 and above
