IPOH: Perak will launch two new tourism products after the movement control order (MCO) is lifted, says state Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi.
These are The Maze@TT5 in Tanjung Tualang and Datuk Lat’s house and gallery in Batu Gajah.
“We had to postpone the launches several times because of the MCO. We hope to launch them by March at the latest, ” she told reporters during an online press conference on Monday (Feb 1).
The state will also continue to promote its #TravelPerakLah voucher to boost tourism.
The voucher, launched in June, offers discounts at selected hotels and tourism products.
On another matter, Nolee Ashilin said the state government will hold a special virtual run in conjunction with Chinese New Year through Tourism Perak and the Malaysia Orienteering Club.
“Twelve locations have been selected, covering each district in Perak.
“The locations were chosen based on popularity to generate more participation, ” she said.
“By having this event virtually, participants will be able to follow the Covid-19 standard operating procedures, ” she said, adding that participants may choose between a 5km and 10km run when registering at the Tourism Perak website.
