Estate Management Model (EMM) Paddy
The Paddy Estate Management Model (EMM) leverages on the usage of innovative mechanisms and modern activities to improve the yield of rice. Currently being implemented in Seberang Perai Utara, Pulau Pinang and Kerian, Perak, this initiative has been proven to raise the rice production in those areas from about 3 tonnes per hectare to about 8 tonnes per hectare per season (average). This has directly improved participating farmers’ income, thus helping us to achieve our goal to increase the value of agriculture produce in NCER
This initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Pulau Pinang and Pertubuhan Peladang Negeri Perak. NCIA is identifying new areas for future phases of this initiative.

Identified anchor companies are expected to develop their own nucleus farms of high-value agricultural and aquaculture products such as superfruits and abalone, before taking up active roles in developing satellite farms within the region and providing the new entrepreneurs with technical assistance and strategic inputs.
